The P-51D Mustang is one of the most iconic American fighters of World War II. Originally designed to meet an RAF specification, it was transformed by the installation of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. With long range and excellent firepower, the P-51D excelled as an escort fighter, protecting bombers on missions deep into enemy territory. It became the top-scoring Allied fighter of the war, credited with 4,950 enemy aircraft destroyed. After WWII, the Mustang saw service in Korea and with several South American air forces until the early 1980s.

This 1/48 scale plastic kit allows you to build a detailed model of this historic aircraft.
