The de Havilland Tiger Moth was a stable and forgiving trainer aircraft, ideal for student pilots during World War II. Known as “easy to fly, but difficult to fly well,” it helped prepare thousands of pilots for operational service. At the start of the war, the RAF had around 500 Tiger Moths in service and requisitioned hundreds more from flying clubs across the UK.
